Spring is finally here, the time when we think about the excitement of rebirth, growth and new beginnings. Do you ever feel like starting over?
Maybe you look around your home and realize that your space is cluttered and makes you feel weighted down. You might take a closer look at your friendships or romantic relationship and realize you just don’t feel fulfilled and supported. Or, perhaps you don’t feel your job is allowing you to live out your passions and dreams.
Are you happy? If not, you are not alone. But I want to encourage you to take action and think about making a fresh start.
So many people get caught up in everyday living, paying bills and just barely “going through the motions” that they don’t stop to think about what they want their lives to be, how they feel or what is going on around them. They work every single day, Monday through Friday, get home just in time to (maybe) make some dinner and unwind for just a few moments, only to go to bed, get up and do it all over again the next day.
Do you relate to this kind of life? If you do, by the time the weekend comes, you may or may not enjoy the time off, because not only are you physically drained, but you are also mentally, emotionally and even spiritually depleted, possibly also living in a cluttered home that does not support or refresh you. Suddenly, it’s Sunday night already, and time for another exhausting week to start.
What does your week do for you? Do you work at a job that has you doing something for someone else every second, but doesn’t fulfill you? If so, then how can you change that? You don’t have to be a creator like a singer, writer or an artist, or be a successful doctor or lawyer in order to be happy. But the best thing in the world you can do is find work that fills you up and helps you really manifest the dreams you have for your life – a job that gets you out of that endless, negative, Monday through Friday cycle that is doing nothing for you.
Sometimes we just need to take time out of our busy days and take a long, hard look at our lives. We need to see what is going on and what we are doing to prevent ourselves from living in a positive state. If you’ve ever felt like you just want to hit a re-set button, I am here to tell you, you can.
I have heard friends and clients talk about the idea of the “re-set button” after a breakup or divorce, the loss of a parent or job. There is nothing wrong with hitting that button. But if you do, you need to make sure you are prepared to look closely at which elements of your life you want to change and at the parts of your life you want to keep close to you.
I am personally going through a transition in my life. And as I’ve been growing recently, I’ve realized it’s time for me to change many of the things that are in my living space. I have had the same furniture and space for a decade, and I feel like it represents a time in the past that I have outgrown. I am now creating a vibe in my home that reflects all the excitement I feel about my artistic life that gives me so much space to grow, flow and create.
I am taking spring cleaning very seriously this year, and that cleaning is still in process for me. It has been very freeing and feels really good to let go, release, clean and allow for more space to grow. I know if I let this process happen and actively participate in it, I am going to make room for better and greater things to come in my life.
And it is times like this – when I am hitting a point where I need to make a fresh start and re-evaluate – that I remind myself of my 5 Star Points system and the importance for all of us of making things right with our MIND, BODY, SPIRIT, EMOTIONS and ENVIRONMENT. When you check in with what is going on with all of these critical pieces that make up YOU and think about what you’re on earth to accomplish, you can experience a huge burst of energy. The process of cleaning up your life will not always be easy, but you will find the courage if you build a strong foundation.
Foundation and developing strong base so you can live your life fully and confidently hit “re-set” is what the 5 Star Points system is really about. It is the absolute alignment of mind, body, spirit, emotions and your environment.
If you don’t have a solid base – if you are running around on empty and going through the motions of your life feeling unfulfilled by your space, in your relationship, by your friendships, by your job and everything else around you, any emotional chaos and negative experiences that hit you will send you crashing down.
We must make the time to look at our internal and external spaces on a regular basis and think carefully about what we can improve, which elements are of value to our growth – which we should keep – and which we should throw away or replace. If we keep surrounding ourselves with the pieces of our lives that distract us and bring up old memories rather than the pieces we truly need that support us and that we love rather, we will never get out of the chaos.
I encourage you to join me in celebrating the season and take this opportunity to do some spring cleaning in your life. We all deserve to be supported and feel good, so we can manifest our wildest dreams and not get stuck in the negative space of an unfulfilling job, a cluttered home or an unhealthy relationship. Start over, and start to feel the positive vibes flow through you in everything you do!
