As a certified feng shui practitioner, the idea of creating flow in my external and internal space surges through me. And I find myself regularly asking my clients, friends and even myself, “Are you making room in your soul and in your life for what you love?”
Many people complain about how they want more blessings in their lives – whether a special someone, or a career or project that really ignites them. But when you take a closer look, you find that their space is over-crowded; their external and mental, spiritual and emotional environments are so crammed with “things” that there is no place for positive vibes and concrete action that will get them to a place of peace and prosperity.
If you want some examples, consider the following questions:
How can you really find a good man or woman in your life when you are still in a toxic or unhealthy relationship?
How can you create a peaceful space at home that will inspire you daily and allow you to rest and recharge when it is crowded with objects you don’t need or that don’t bring you happiness?
How can you really focus on manifesting the project or job of your dreams when you are spinning your wheels, engaged in a thousand other tasks and distractions?
How can you fill your life with all the joyful blessings you deserve when every part of your being is filled up to the brim – with either good or bad elements?
The answer to all of these is, “You can’t.”
We’ve all had times when we feel overwhelmed – like we have no time or room to think, breathe and figure out which steps we need to take next in order to continue to live joyfully. But if we want to wake up feeling inspired, do what we love with our lives, and make our existence on this wonderful planet count, we have to find a way to summon the positive energy. That means sometimes we have to let go of the good, the bad or the indifferent if there is something we really want in our space, whether external or internal.
When I am guiding people through my 5 Star Points system, I help them examine their MIND, BODY, SPIRIT, EMOTIONS and ENVIRONMENT. To get a closer look at environment, I regularly ask these questions (And I’ve certainly also regularly asked myself these same questions!):
Are you mentally, physically, spiritually and emotionally available?
Is there room in your environment for that item, person/relationship, project, career or child that you long for but can’t seem to manifest?
The truth is, purging is often essential to letting in all the love you crave; we need to take a good look at what we have, clear out what we don’t need and invite in what we want with open arms. But in order to do this, we need to be ready, so that special thing we want will not just become more clutter.
Are you available?
Are you ready?
Do you have enough room in your life to manifest your dreams, or will they just stack up with all the other things, becoming toxic, non-existent or losing its value because you cannot properly shine a light on them?
If you’re not sure where to begin – or if you think you know what you want but are not sure if it will be a positive force in your life – here is an exercise that I often engage in myself:
Envision how something feels in your space with you, in you, around you and see if it really resonates. Think about how much it is worth and exactly what you are willing to do to have it.
Can you imagine it?
If you can … stop making excuses!
It’s easy to make up all the excuses in the world about why we do not have what we want, need or love. But it is within our power to let go of everything that is blocking us from feeding our soul. We need to stop working ourselves up into a frenzy, riding the emotional roller coaster and constantly asking, “Should I?” The answer is already inside you.
Here’s my challenge to you:
Make room in your soul for whatever it is you love. Simply decide it is your priority and that you are going to do it. Then make time to allow your dream to manifest and to clear out what is holding you back so you have the space to call in something beautiful.
If you wholeheartedly want to grab your dream – whether it’s a loving, supportive partner, a fulfilling project or something else – you need to make way for the loving energy that will enhance your internal and external space and help you move forward. It’s time for a little feng shui of the soul!
